Part One

Willow was excited. Cordelia had just called and told her that she and Angel were coming to Sunnydale. Willow and Cordelia had become good friends since the May Queen had moved to Los Angeles and started working for Angel. The two often exchanged emails and phone calls. Willow had even gone to LA a few times to see the pair and had found that she enjoyed Angel a lot more since he was gone. He didn't seem to brood as much as when he was involved with Buffy. He seemed happier, often laughing at the little things that Willow would joke about. It was during one of these visits that Willow had discovered that the crush she had had in high school on the souled vampire had turned into full fledge love.

It was because of that love that Willow hadn?t told Buffy about the visits. She knew that the blonde slayer still hadn?t gotten over the fact that Angel had left Sunnydale and hadn?t even come back for a visit. Willow tried to be the understanding friend that she knew was expected of her but she had found it increasingly difficult. Buffy constantly complained about how Angel was hurting her, even though she had gone and gotten involved with, not one, but two guys. Parker and Riley. Although, Willow had to admit that Parker wasn?t really a relationship. Willow couldn?t understand how Buffy could profess her love for Riley all the while bitching about how Angel was moving on without her.

Willow knew how hard it had been for the souled vampire when he had left after the ascension. While Buffy had her whole support group rallying around her, Angel didn?t have anyone. She was pretty sure that was why she had first tried to stay in contact with him. To let him know how much she cared for him. Then when Cordelia and Doyle had started working at his agency, the friendship had grown to include the two. Willow was happy that Cordelia had finally found someone that she cared for and she thought Doyle was good for the former cheerleader. Willow had been heartbroken when she had found out about Doyle?s death, going into a funk for two days that no one was able to get her out of.

And now, they were coming to town. Cordelia didn?t go into details about why they were visiting the old hometown, but Willow had a feeling that the brunette had a vision of some kind. On one of Willow's visits, she had been a witness to one of Doyle? s visions and had winced at the pain it had inflicted in the half demon. Willow could only imagine how Cordelia was dealing with them now. She and Buffy had talked one time about the visions with Buffy laughing them off as just an overactive imagination. Nevermind the fact that the visions led to someone in trouble, Buffy didn?t truly believe in the Powers That Be?s gift. It didn? t help that Buffy was jealous of the friendship between Cordelia and Angel. That was another reason why Willow hadn? t told her roommate about her visits to LA. She didn? t think she could deal with Buffy getting on her case about " betraying" her by being friends with the man that broke her heart.

Willow looked at the clock on her table. Cordelia had called saying that they would be in Sunnydale around 7 o? clock. One hour. Willow had agreed to meet the pair at Willow?s old house, her parents being out of town as usual.

Willow didn?t want them to come to the dorm, just because she wasn?t sure when Buffy would come back or if she would be bringing Riley with her. Willow didn?t want the Initiative to know about Angel. She already knew that Buffy had kept the fact that her former boyfriend was a "hostile" and she didn?t want Riley and his friends to capture her friend.

Willow took special care in getting ready to go meet Cordelia and Angel. She put on an emerald green slip dress that she had bought one day on the spur of the moment. It wasn? t something that people were used to seeing on her, but she liked the way it fell on her body. Not to mention the way it brought out the color of her eyes. She applied her make-up, remembering all of the tips that Cordelia had given her. She wanted to look good for Angel. Willow was sure that the vampire thought of her as only a friend, but Cordelia was slowly convincing her that he cared for her as much more than that. Willow hoped so, because even though she knew that it would hurt Buffy, Willow was in love with Angel and would do anything to be with him. Especially since his soul was now permanent.

Just outside Sunnydale, Angel was driving while Cordelia was fiddling with the radio dial. The two of them sat in a companionable silence, which they had begun to do more and more since Doyle?s death. They had been each other?s rock, helping get over the pain of the half-demon?s death. They had become each other?s confidante, telling each other the secrets that they wanted to keep hidden from the world. Cordelia?s being that she knew she was a lousy actress. Angel?s, that he was in love with Willow.

He wasn?t sure when it had happened. He had always considered the young hacker as nothing more than Buffy?s friend. The shy one. The one who loved to research while the others preferred to party. But that had started to change after graduation. She had found out where he was living and made every effort to draw him out. To get him to start talking about what he was feeling. She had visited him and Cordelia a few times and he found that he enjoyed her company. She made him laugh, which wasn?t an easy thing to do as Cordelia was often saying.

Then, during one of her visits, she had been attacked. Not by a demon or vampire, but by a mugger. She arrived back at his apartment and he held her all night, soothing her fears and drying her tears. He rocked her to sleep, his grip on her never lessening until her could feel her heartbeat slow and her breathing go shallow. That was when he finally admitted that he would do anything to keep the girl in his arms safe from harm for always. She had given him something that he hadn?t even been aware he was missing. His heart. She completed him. Made him feel whole. And he did his best to show her how special she was. He sent her flowers on her birthday, making sure that they would arrive when Buffy wasn?t there so that Willow would have time to decide what to tell his former girlfriend.

(Buffy) Just the thought of his ex, sent shivers down his spine. Not because he still loved her, no that had ended sometime her senior year, it was one of the reasons he left, but because he was afraid that she might do something to hurt Willow if she found out about the friendship that the hacker was keeping secret. Angel knew that Buffy was involved with some guy named Riley, who was one of the commando guys that had captured his childe, Spike, and made it so he could not harm any human. Willow had told Cordelia and him all about the Initiative and their secret agenda of destroying all demons, good and evil. It was one of the reasons that Angel and Cordelia hadn?t told anyone other than Willow that they were coming into town. Angel knew that the Initiative would probably have a field day with a souled vampire and a human that had been blessed with visions from the PTBs.

"So, are you planning on telling her while we are in town?" Cordelia said, breaking Angel out of his thoughts.

"I don?t know," Angel admitted, knowing exactly what Cordelia was talking about.

"Why not?" Cordelia couldn?t believe how stubborn her boss was being. It had been so obvious to both her and Doyle that Willow and Angel were in love with each other, even before the two of them had realized it themselves. She had been trying to get the two of them together ever since her own relationship with Doyle had been abruptly cut short before it even had a chance to begin. She didn?t want to see the two of them make the same mistakes.

"Because, I don?t think she sees me that way," Angel sighed, which he only did when something bothered him big time. "I don?t want to ruin our friendship by asking her for something that she might not want."

"Okay, how many times do I have to tell you that she feels the same way, before it begins to sink into the thick old vampire skull of yours? Cordelia asked, sarcastically. She and Angel had had this conversation many times over the past week and she was getting really tired of having to deal with his insecurities. "You just don?t think you?re good enough for her."

Angel nodded his head, "That too. She deserves someone who can give her everything that she ever wanted. A nice house, kids, walks in the daylight."

"But how do you know that?s what she wants. This is Willow we are talking about," Cordelia stated. "I mean, she wasn?t exactly raised like normal kids and we all know her life hasn?t exactly been peaches and cream. You?re what she wants and if you would just admit it to yourself, you would realize that I?m right. So I want to know, are you going to tell her?"

As Cordelia finished her speech, Angel had pulled into the Rosenberg driveway. He saw Willow waiting for them on the front porch and he looked at her, taking in a deep unneeded breathe. He thought about how beautiful she was and how all he wanted to do was take her in his arms and kiss her until she couldn?t breathe.

"I?ll tell her tonight, Delia. I?ll tell her tonight."

Part 2

"Delia," Willow said as she rushed over to hug her friend. "You?re looking good."

"You are being just way too kind," Cordelia replied. "I know I look like shit."

"No, you don?t," Willow denied. "You can never look like shit. You are Cordelia Chase after all." Cordelia gave the slight red head a small smile.

She then turned to Angel who was still standing by the car, leaning on it.

"I?m going inside now and unpack," Cordelia whispered. "I want the two of you do be making out by the time I get done." Willow blushed a bright red from the brunette?s words, as she took in Angel?s body leaning casually against the door of his car. Cordelia picked up her suitcase and headed into the house.

"You can have the guest room, Delia. You know which one that is," Willow called after the girl. As soon as Cordelia was inside, Angel walked over to the hacker that was in his dreams every night.

"Hey Angel," Willow whispered almost shyly, suddenly unsure of herself.

She wanted desperately to believe everything that Cordelia had been telling her, but she still had doubts that Angel would think of her as anything other than a friend.

"Hello, Willow," he replied, tilting her head up with his hand so that he could look into her eyes. He was ready to lose himself in them if she let him. "Thanks for having us here."

Willow smiled, "You should know that you are always welcome in my home."

Angel returned Willow?s smile with one of his own, as she was once again reminded of how handsome he was. Willow was so tempted to kiss Angel at that moment. She had never wanted anything more in her life. She could imagine his cold lips against her. his body pressed against hers. His hands moving over her, as if molding her body to fit him perfectly. She took a deep breathe trying to remove the visual that was playing in her head but only succeeded in making it a bit more graphic. She unconsciously wrapped her arms around Angel?s waist, drawing him to her. Angel went willingly.

"Willow, love," he whispered as he felt her press against him.

"Hmmmm" Willow murmured, enjoying the feeling of having him next to her.

"Would it be all right if I kissed you?" Angel asked the girl in his arms.

Willow looked up at him, realizing just how close the two had gotten. She looked into his eyes, trying to figure out what he was feeling, and was surprised to see love and desire reflected in them. Then she remembered that he was still waiting for an answer to his question.

"I would like that Angel." Angel smiled once more as he lowered his head and claimed her lips with his. Willow stood on her toes, trying to get as close to him as possible, in the process allowing Angel to deepen the kiss.

Their tongues dueled each other in a battle that both would win. Willow was in heaven. She had a vivid imagination, but nothing had prepared her for the feel of Angel?s lips against hers. Finally, her lungs cried out from the lack of oxygen, and she broke off the kiss. That didn?t stop Angel though as he trailed kisses down her neck, to the base of her throat.

"Mmmmmmm, liking that," Willow sighed. Angel brought his face back up so that he could look into the green eyes of his love. What he saw there made him grateful to the PTBs for anchoring his soul, because he knew that he had found absolute happiness. Just by Willow allowing him to love her.

"So, do you think Cordelia would be surprised if she walked out here and saw us doing this?" Angel teased, knowing that his assistant had been doing everything possible to make sure that Angel and Willow hooked up.

"Oh, I?m pretty sure she would be very upset if she walked out here and saw us doing anything else."

Across the street, three people stood and watched the couple on Willow?s lawn. One looked confused, another sad and the third angry and hurt. Riley turned to look at the blonde next to him and was surprised to see her griping the stake in her hand like it was her lifeline.

"Buffy, who is that with Willow?" He asked his girlfriend.

"Angel," was her only reply. Riley was shocked. Buffy had told him about her previous relationship with the dark haired man that he had just witnessed kiss Willow. He knew that Angel had left Sunnydale because he felt that it would be better if he and Buffy were apart. But Riley didn?t understand why he was with Willow and why the two of them were kissing so passionately that he could feel the love between the two of them from his vantage point.

"Whose Angel?" Graham asked as he watched the pair kiss again, oblivious to their surroundings. He had hoped to be the one that made the red head forget about the musician that had broken her heart and was upset to see her in the arms of someone else. He could tell by the tone in Buffy?s voice that she wasn?t too happy about the turn of events either.

"My ex-boyfriend," Buffy stated simply, refusing to go into any more detail. Her eyes were focused on the couple in front of her. It was the last thing she expected to see when she had agreed to patrol with Riley and Graham. They were just passing by Willow?s house when Angel and Cordelia had pulled up and the three decided to see what was going on. They had watched as the two girls had greeted each other and then continued to stare as Angel and Willow had gotten closer, until they kissed. That was when Riley heard his girlfriend?s first gasp and he knew that something was wrong.

"What?s he doing with Willow?" Graham asked, not noticing the tension that was coming from the other two people.

"I don?t know, but I intend to find out." Buffy got up from her hiding place and was about to cross the street when Cordelia suddenly came running out of the house, frantic.

"Delia, what?s wrong?" Angel asked, breaking away from Willow and going over to the hysterical brunette.

"Vision," she told him. "Had a vision." Angel was concerned. He had never seen a vision affect Cordelia as the one she just had. She was unnerved.

"What was in it?" He asked, trying to calm her down. Willow joined him and quietly gave her support to her friend.

"Doyle," Cordelia said. "I saw Doyle and he was alive and in Sunnydale."

"Where?" Angel asked, suddenly finding himself excited. He know understood why the vision had bothered Cordelia. Just the thought that Doyle was alive made him ecstatic.

"Washington Part," Cordelia told him. "The Oracles. They?re sending him back to me." Cordelia broke down in tears as Angel and Willow hugged the overwrought girl. "We have to get there, now."

"We?re going," Angel told her, looking over at Willow who nodded her head.

She had missed the Irishman too and the hope that he may be coming back made her almost as happy as Cordelia. The three of them started walking towards the park in question, never knowing that three others were trailing them.

Part 2

Buffy, Riley and Graham were following the trio in front of them at a close enough distance to overhear bits and pieces of their conversation. What they heard made no sense to them. Doyle?Powers that Be?Oracles?.Visions.

Riley had looked over at Buffy to see if she understood any of what they were talking about but al he got was her shrug. And so they followed, wondering what was about to happen.

"Cordelia, you?re sure that it was Doyle?" Willow asked, trying to keep the excitement out her voice. She knew enough about the visions that came to the former cheerleader to believe in them, but Willow was afraid that perhaps Cordelia?s vision was a little bit on the hopeful side.

"Yes, I?m sure it was Doyle," Cordelia snapped at the hacker. "Trust me, I would know if it was Doyle or not."

"I know you would," Willow said, trying to placate the distraught woman. "I know how much you loved him."

"I know you do," Cordelia said, her voice coming out as nothing more than a small whisper as she stopped just inside the park. "I?m sorry. It?s just that the prospect of him coming back to me has me all?.."

"Happy? Ecstatic? Wanting to run around and do the happy dance?" Willow grinned at the girl.

"All of the above, plus knock him on his ass for giving me these damn visions." Cordelia answered, returning Willow?s grin with one of her own.

"And I bet you?ll give him the biggest kiss he?s every had right after that," Angel teased, happy to see his assistant so excited. Her smile grew impossibly bigger.

"Oh yeah, there will be some major kissage involved."

"So, let?s get to where we have to be. We have a Irishman to meet."

Angel, Willow and Cordelia headed toward the area of the park that the vision had pinpointed as to where Doyle would be making his reappearance, Buffy, Riley and Graham following behind again.

"Who is Doyle?" Riley asked his girlfriend, trying to figure out what was going on with the people they were observing.

"I don?t know," Buffy admitted, realizing that Willow had kept a lot more than her relationship with Angel a secret. "I?ve never heard of him before, but then again, I haven?t exactly kept in contact with Angel or Cordelia since they had gone to Los Angeles."

"But you and Willow are roommates, didn?t she tell you anything?" Riley questioned.

"No," Buffy spat out, angry at her friend?s deception. "She never even told met that she kept in touch with them, let alone anything about her relationships with them." Buffy emphasized the word relationship.

"Well, whatever is going on it?s something major. I mean, I can feel the tension all the way back here, no matter how light hearted they all appear," Riley observed.

"Then I guess we better go find out what is happening," Buffy told him as she ran to catch up with the people in front of her. She knew that she shouldn?t be coming out of hiding but she didn?t care. She wanted to know what was going on and she wanted to know right now.

"Willow," she said as she got closer to the group. She could hear Riley and Graham running up behind her.

"Buffy," Willow replied nervously, looking back and forth between her roommate and the vampire they both loved. "What are you doing here?"

"Following you," Buffy stated simply, her gaze taking in Angel and Cordelia also, her eyes hard when they reached her former lover. "Angel, this is a surprise."

"It shouldn?t be if you?ve been following us," Angel replied. "How long have you been spying on us?"

"Since we saw you pull into Willow?s driveway." Buffy heard Willow?s gasp.

"That?s right. We were right there watching when you two were making out like teenagers on the front lawn."

"Buffy, I can explain?" Willow started to say but was cut off by her friend.

"Explain what?" Buffy shouted. "Explain why my best friend was kissing the man I love." Buffy didn?t notice the hurt look on Riley?s face as he heard her words. "Explain how someone I trusted could lie to me? What do you want to explain, Willow?"

"Buffy, we don?t have time for your petty jealousy," Cordelia said, tired of listening to Buffy indignant voice. Cordelia just wanted her to go away.

"We are waiting for someone, so if you and your buddies don?t mind, please leave."

"No, Cordelia, I am not leaving," Buffy stated. "Not until I get some answers. Like who?s Doyle?"

"A friend," Angel told his ex, suddenly questioning what it was that he had ever seen in her. This was not the same girl that he had first loved.

"A friend? Why don?t I believe you," Buffy said. There was something in her voice and stance that made Angel realize that she wasn?t going to just let it go.

"I don?t know, Buffy. Why don?t you tell me?"

"Because, we overheard you talking. Something about visions and coming back and the Oracles, whatever they are," Buffy explained. "So care to explain?"

"Not really," Angel shrugged. "It?s none of your business really."

"Well, I?m making it my business. And I want to know what is going on."

Before anyone could say anything else, a fierce wind came from no where.

Angel, Cordelia and Willow looked around, having a feeling that this was the beginning of what they had been looking forward too. A booming clap of thunder could be heard and was followed by a bright flash of light, temporally blinding the occupants in the park. When their vision cleared, they saw an inert form on the ground. Cordelia screamed as soon as she recognized who it was.

"Doyle," she ran over to the man on the ground, who was slowly trying to stand up. "Doyle its really you." Angel and Willow ran over and joined Cordelia who was kneeling and hugging the half demon that had just made a rather startling reappearance to the human world.

"Cordelia," he questioned, not quite believing what had just happened. The last thing he remembered was being on that ship and hitting Angel, right before he kissed Cordelia and jumped onto that bomb device. And now, here he was, in a park being hugged by the woman of his dreams. "Cordelia."

"Oh Doyle, it?s really you. I thought I would never see you again," the girl cried, holding him closely to her, refusing to let him go. He looked over her shoulder and saw Angel and Willow, holding each other, huge grins on their faces. Okay, now he was really confused. Apparently a lot has been happening.

"Its good to see you again Doyle," Willow said through the smile on her face.

"It?s been too quiet around the office since you?ve been gone," Angel told the half demon. He was extremely glad to see his partner.

"How long have I been gone?" Doyle asked, trying to put the pieces together.

"About two months. We?ve missed you," Angel replied, meaning it. He was glad that Doyle had returned, not just because he knew how much Cordelia had missed him, but because of how much he had missed his friend.

"Well then, I guess I?m glad I was able to come back." Cordelia helped Doyle to his feet, still refusing to let him go for fear that he may disappear again.

"Excuse me, but as touching as this is, what the hell is going on here?"

The two couples turned to the owner of the voice, which was one very extremely pissed off slayer and two confused commandos.

Part 3

"Buffy, this is Doyle, Angel?s partner," Willow told her friend. Doyle looked over at the blonde slayer as soon as he heard her name.

"So this is the Buffy you all told me about," he said. "She?s the Slayer?"

"Yes, I?m the Slayer," Buffy answered him. "And I want some answers, now."

The two couples looked between each other, not sure who should tell Buffy what was going on, let alone how much of it.

"I?d say I help ya there, but I?m not to sure meself," Doyle replied. "I just got here."

"From where?"

Doyle shrugged his shoulders, "Can?t really tell ya as I don?t rightly know. Last thing I remember was punching Angel, kissing Cordelia and jumping to stop a bomb from going off. According to them, that was over two months ago." Buffy turned her attention from Doyle to Angel and Willow, looking for them to tell her what was happening. Angel gave Willow?s shoulder a squeeze as he looked at his ex love.

"Buffy, Doyle died right after Thanksgiving. He died saving some demons that were being hunted," Angel explained. "He passed on his gift of visions to Cordelia, who had one tonight."

"Yeah, that reminds me mister, you are so in trouble over that one," Cordelia angrily told the half demon, who smiled at her sheepishly. "I had thought that kiss meant something."

"Sorry, princess. I didn?t mean to give them to you," he answered apologetically. "It really was only supposed to be a kiss."

"Forgiven," she smiled, giving Doyle a kiss to seal the point.

"You didn?t do that just to see if you could give me back the visions?" He asked.

"No," Cordelia grinned, "I gave it to you because I missed you and I?ve wanted to do that for awhile now."

"Hello, can we please get back to the topic here," Buffy questioned, not liking how the four people in front of her were just ignoring her presence. No one ignored her. "Or would you prefer we take you all into the lab and question you there?"

"Buffy," Willow exclaimed, angry that her friend would even suggest such a thing, let alone in front of Riley and Graham.

"Willow," Buffy mocked her room mate. "I want some answers and if you aren?t willing to give them to me here, we will take you in to do so and you know what that means." Willow blanched at the implied threat, not able to believe that her friend would willingly subject Angel and the others to the experiments the Initiative would perform on them.

"Buffy, I don?t know what questions you want us to answer," Cordelia said, "but they?re going to have to wait. It?s almost sunrise and Doyle?s tired. So if you?ll excuse us, I want to just go back to Willow?s and relax."

"We?ll go with you," Buffy told her, not leaving any room for argument.

"Fine," Angel said tersely. Angel took Willow?s hand and started walking away from Buffy, Riley and Graham, Doyle and Cordelia right behind him.

Buffy watched them leave.

"Buffy, what the hell was that all about?" Riley questioned. "Why did you tell them about taking them to the lab?"

"Because, Angel?s a vampire and I?m pretty sure that Doyle person is some kind of demon," Buffy explained. "And if Cordelia has visions like she says, plus Willow being a witch, I figured that Walsh would love to have them in her possession."

"But they?re your friends," Riley stated, not sure he liked how easily Buffy could turn on the people she supposedly cared about, even if they were possible hostiles. "How could you even think of turning them in?"

"Because they aren?t my friends," she spit out. "If they were, Willow and Angel wouldn?t have been making out the way they were. She knew how I felt about him and yet she went after him and he let her. He?s supposed to be in love with me, not her. That?s why I have no problem taking them in."

"But you?ve moved on," Riley pointed out, "or have I just been something to play with until Angel decided to come back to you?" Buffy looked into Riley?s hurt eyes and was sorry for the pain that she put in them, but unable to stop herself from doing it.

"No, Riley, I do care about you, but Angel and I were soulmates. Our love was something that couldn?t be contained. I know that that hurts you and I am sorry, but don?t you see, that?s why I have to do something about him and Willow. It?s just not natural, don?t you see?" Buffy tried to explain to her boyfriend, hoping that he would understand.

"No, Buffy, I don?t see. It doesn?t make any sense to me," Riley informed the shocked blonde. "I don?t understand why you were dating a vampire, considering you are the Slayer. I don?t understand your friend having a vision. I don?t understand how someone could just appear out of thin air, when he was supposedly killed months ago. And I don?t understand how you could be so self-centered that you are more concerned with how this effects you, when you already have someone who loves you, then your best friend who apparently has found happiness with someone else."

With that said, Riley motioned for Graham to follow him. Buffy watched helplessly as Riley and Graham went in the opposite direction of Willow and the others. She turned to and saw that they two had disappeared and that she was left alone. She started running, hoping to catch up with them before they got to Willow?s house.

"What are we going to do about her?" Cordelia asked, not saying Buffy?s name.

"I don?t know," Willow said as she looked behind to see if Buffy and her friends were following them. She was surprised to see they weren?t there.

"Where?d they go?"

"What?" Cordelia said, turning to see that they weren?t being followed.

"That?s weird, I could have sworn that she would be right behind us."

"Same here," Doyle agreed.

"Come on, Angel said, starting to walk faster, "if we can beat them back to Willow?s house, we can be on the road before they get there."

"That sounds like a plan," Willow said, joining Angel. Doyle and Cordelia catching up quickly. The two couples practically ran to Willow?s house, Cordelia running inside to grab her bags while Angel got the car started. Once Cordelia joined them again, he pulled out of the drive, just as Buffy was arriving. She stared helplessly as she watched the taillights disappear.

"Angel," she screamed into the night.

Willow turned from the window to face the man driving the car. She knew that she had just made a decision that would change the rest of her life.

She left behind her childhood when she choose Angel over Buffy, but she knew she wouldn?t regret it. She loved Angel too much. He meant the world to her. He reached over and took her hand in his, squeezing it gently.

"Are you going to be okay, little one?" He asked, gently, knowing what it cost her to come with him. She gave him a small smile.

"As long as you?re with me, I?ll be fine." Willow scooted over, settling herself against Angel without hindering his driving, while Cordelia and Doyle did the same in the backseat. The four were content being together, knowing that their lives were just beginning and that they were now a family.

The End
